Richmond Ho Math and Chess is owned by Mr. Ben Huang who has over 10 years of management and consulting experience. Ben graduated from Polytechnic Normal University, Guangdong and is a former regional chess champion and chess coach in China. He is also a chess champion of the Richmond, BC Aberdeen chess tournament.
Ben brings his excellent personal and communication skills into education, students will appreciate his articulated way of explaining on how to solve a math problem or the reasons of making a chess move.
Ben firmly believes that the Richmond Ho Math and Chess teaching chess set is a grest way of learning chess by using the "You See is What You move " methodology. With Ho Math and Chess teachiing chess set, Children as young as 4 years old can play chess in just half of hour of learning.
Ben particularily likes to have chess integrated into math to motivate students to learn math. Ben thinks the invention of Geometry Chess Symbol (invented with geometry concepts) by Ho Math and Chess is an education breakthrough in tutoring math and this is also how Ho Math and Chess stands out above the crowd.
Ms. Julia Dai is a senior teacher at Richmond Ho Math and Chess. She has a master degree in mathematics education from UBC and also is a BC certified math teacher. Julia has taught mathematics over 10 years in China and Canada. Her positive attitude toward teaching and genuine care about students is a great way of motivating students to learn math well.
